The challenge

Getting to know a customer shouldn't take five screens

Without a unified profile, customer information is scattered: purchase history in the POS, contact details in the Ecommerce platform, consents in a separate document, and analytics in a different BI tool. Every time marketing or customer service needs to understand a person, they have to cross-reference several sources by hand, at the risk of working with incomplete or outdated data.

What the customer profile includes

Everything Wapping unifies in a single profile

Every block updates in real time with the customer's in-store and online activity, all on the same screen.

Personal data and custom fieldsStandard fields plus any custom fields you want to capture.
Groups, tiers, and audiencesWhich segments, member tiers, and dynamic audiences the customer belongs to at any given time.
Omnichannel activity timelineSales, returns, and exchanges (mixed sale-and-return receipts), in store and online, in chronological order.
Notifications and eventsMessages sent through any channel and events from other systems, such as in-store pickups of online orders, in the same timeline.
Real-time service walletPoints, cashback, direct discount, promotions, and more: what's active, how it's been used, and its status (active or inactive).
Registration channels and linked accountsWhere the customer joined and in which channels they are identified today.
Consents and legal termsThe accepted version of each legal document and notification consent management, essential for GDPR compliance.
Customer analytics and KPIsLTV, preferred store, and purchase detail by product category, size, and other attributes.

Whatever the registration channel, including assisted sign-up in store, customers always accept the legal terms and notification consents themselves, never a sales associate or staff member on their behalf: the customer verifies their mobile number and explicitly confirms acceptance, ensuring strict GDPR compliance.

Benefits

One customer, one profile, no more screens to check.

  1. A single source of truth. Nobody has to cross-reference the CRM, POS, Ecommerce, and BI by hand to understand a customer: everything lives in the same profile.
  2. Audit-ready traceability. Consents and versions of the legal terms are recorded with dates, without relying on manual processes to comply with GDPR.
  3. Real detail, not summaries. The timeline goes down to the line item, the payment method, and the linked return, instead of aggregate figures that have to be reconstructed.
  4. An always up-to-date wallet. Active services, usage, and the status of each benefit are visible in real time and historically, without exporting anything.
  5. Faster decisions. Marketing and customer service start from the same complete context, so personalization and customer response don't depend on which screen they had open.

The timeline, line by line

The level of detail that makes the difference

The timeline isn't just a summary: every purchase can be opened down to the line item, with its payment method and the loyalty benefits applied in that specific transaction. If the customer made a return, it is linked to its original purchase receipt.

The same timeline also captures notifications sent through any channel and events logged to the customer's profile, such as an in-store pickup of an online order: all in chronological order, without leaving the profile.

Illustrative timeline example

1Ecommerce purchase — €84.902 items · Card · "10% off first purchase" promotion applied
2WhatsApp notification sentOrder confirmation with tracking link
3Event: in-store pickupOrder #4471 picked up at the Serrano store
4Return — 1 item, €29.90Linked to the original receipt · Refunded to cashback balance

Use case — Marketing

Decisions based on complete data, not fragments

Without a 360° profile, marketing has to cross-reference exports from the CRM, sales, and customer service to understand a single person before deciding on a campaign or personalized promotion. With Wapping, each customer's purchases, service wallet, consents, and KPIs live in the same profile, so segmentation and personalization start from a complete picture, updated in real time, not from partial or outdated data.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

What information does a customer's 360° profile bring together in Wapping?

Personal data and custom fields; the customer groups they belong to; the membership (member) tiers they are in now and have gone through; the audiences or segments they are part of and the personal tags associated with their profile; the complete activity timeline (purchases, returns, notifications, and events), the real-time and historical service wallet, registration channels and linked accounts, accepted consents and legal terms, and customer analytics and KPIs, all in a single profile.

How detailed is the purchase history?

Down to the line item: item, payment method, and the loyalty benefits and services applied in that specific purchase, plus its link to the return receipt if there is one, both in store and online.

How does this profile help with GDPR compliance?

The profile verifiably records which version of the legal terms the customer accepted and when, and manages their notification consents by channel, leaving a complete, audit-ready trail.

What customer analytics does the profile include?

Summary KPIs such as LTV or preferred store, along with more detailed analytics of purchases by product category, size, and other attributes, accessible directly from the profile.
